HSE Open Access research awards ceremony

Celebrate Open Research

Join us for the HSE’s annual Open Access Research Awards in the Library of Dr Steevens’ Hospital, on Wednesday 4th December at 11.30 am.

The awards, now in their 6th year are a celebration of the hard work of health researchers and their efforts to improve access to Irish health research by making their work available in open Ireland.

Awards will be presented for in the following categories

  • Mental Health
  • Acute Hospitals
  • Primary Care
  • Social Care
  • Health and Well Being
  • Quality Improvement
  • Clinical Strategy & Programmes

There is also an overall winner, which is the article viewed by the external judge to represent an outstanding piece of research from the years’ entries.

Festive Treats

There will also be tea, coffee and festive treats.

Drop in to Dr Steevens Library on Tuesday October  23rd, Wednesday Oct 24th or Friday October 26th and talk to the Lenus Open Access repository team about all things open access. Find out what open access is, what the benefits are of making your research available in open access through a repository like Lenus and how to make sure you have rights to archive your research in a repository.

Love Life, Love Walking Day

Join us or a walk

To celebrate Healthy Ireland’s ‘Love life, love walking’ day on February 14th why not get your walking shoes on and join our lunchtime walk.

Where:  Meeting in Dr. Steevens Library we will be and walking to the Royal Hospital Killmainham and back.

Opening hours

  • Monday – Thursday: 10 am – 12 pm, & 2 pm – 4 pm
  • Friday: closed

Access your library account and renew online

  • View and renew your books online: Login to the library catalogue and you can view details of all the items you have on loan, renew items and place holds
  • Self registration: if you do not have a library account you can self register using the online form
  • Update you own details: If you have changed address or email you can change this on your catalogue record. We are also asking our users to login check the data and terms and conditions box on their accounts to agree to the information we hold on them in the library management system
  • Get your password: to access these features use the ‘login to your account’ box on the right side on the catalogue home page. If you haven’t logged in before, choose ‘forgot your password’ then add your login which will be first name, last name and your email address and a temporary password will be emailed to you which you can change once logged in.
