Discovering Open Data in Health: An introductory workshop for health librarians and researchers
Workshop Details: This course is designed specifically for Health and social care researchers, Health Librarians and those with a professional or research interest in pursuing Open Data in the health sector in Ireland. It is suitable for those who already have some knowledge of Open Data or those who are new to it.
The workshop takes place during Open Access week 2018, a week celebrating open access research.
It is a one-day interactive course run by Dr Steevens Library and delivered by registered Open Data Institute trainers from the Insight Centre for Data Analytics in NUI Galway.
Participants will learn how to discover, use and describe Open Data and the impact of Open Data on the Health Sector in Ireland. This introductory free course will give a view of the Open Data landscape in Ireland. Participants: Will be required to attend for the whole day and to bring a wifi enabled laptop.
Prerequisites: No previous experience with Open Data is required. However, participants should have a basic knowledge of how to use a spreadsheet and the world wide web.

The F2 community centre is located at 3 Reuben Plaza, Rialto, Dublin.
It is best accessed by taking the Luas red line tram (heading towards Tallaght) and getting off at the Fatima stop. From the Fatima stop Reuben Plaza is straight ahead and the F2 centre is to the right.
