The Library and Education Centre, St. Luke’s General Hospital is located on the 3rd floor of the hospital providing library services to all HSE hospital and community staff within counties Kilkenny and Carlow. The remit of the library is to provide healthcare professionals access to a comprehensive range of evidence-based, up-to-date resources.
The library also offers space for independent study, work or reflection. Facilities include 4 PCs and 7 study spaces, a 24/7 study room with 6 PCs and 12 study spaces, 4 tutorial rooms all with PCs and white boards and 16 additional study pods located in the library corridor.
The library holds a large collection of books and substantial online resources in the form of databases, journals, e-books, audiobooks etc.
Staffed by a librarian, a senior library assistant and a library assistant, library staff provide support for research, continuing professional development, education and patient care.
