COVID-19 and changes to Library services

Most HSE Libraries have re-opened, with new new policies and procedures. See our Libraries re-opening page for more information.

HSE Libraries have increased online resources and online support to HSE Staff. Use our chatbot, LAMA, or ask Library staff at the Virtual Desk.

Resources you can access online

Access to our elibrary resources is available automatically from HSE Hospitals or related sites.
Off-site, such as when working at home, access is available through your HSE Open Athens account.

You can register online for a HSE Athens account. You will need

  • a valid email address, and
  • a HSE employee number (on your payslip).

Research Requests

Our dedicated evidence team are providing urgent evidence support requests related to COVID-19 (see COVID-19 resources).

If you have an urgent, non-COVID-19, research request, please continue to submit via the Research Request Service. Note priority is given to COVID-19 related requests.

Article Requests

Request full text articles through links in our elibrary or by contacting your local HSE Library.
