This training course will teach you how to develop your search strategy in a systematic way. The training involves demonstrations, practical work and discussions. It will enable you to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out literature searches.
The trainer is an experienced information specialist. Her extensive experience lies in conducting literature searches to support research and clinical queries.
What you will learn:
- How to construct a search conceptually in order to address a research or clinical question
- Subject headings, Boolean operators, proximity operators and how to use them
- Search syntax such as truncation and wildcard
- Hands on experience of developing search strategies and searching key database
